Our client is a well-established boutique accounting practice located in Geelong CBD, providing taxation, compliance, SMSF and business advisory services to a loyal and growing client base. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Accountant who is looking to step away from corporate-style structures and take ownership of a client portfolio in a genuinely autonomous, close-knit environment. You will work directly with clients and the Director, taking responsibility for end-to-end compliance and advisory work while enjoying a high level of independence and trust. This role is ideal for an accountant who values client relationships, autonomy, and long-term career stability within a small, supportive team. THE ROLE You will be responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of business and individual clients, delivering high-quality compliance and advisory services. Key responsibilities: Manage a portfolio of business and individual clients Prepare financial statements and income tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships, individuals and SMSFs Prepare and lodge BAS and IAS returns Provide taxation and business advisory services Build and maintain long-term client relationships Work autonomously with minimal supervision Contribute to workflow management and meeting deadlines Ensure compliance with Australian tax legislation and accounting standards ABOUT YOU Minimum 4 years’ experience in Australian public practice Confident managing your own client portfolio Strong communication and client relationship management skills Highly organised with strong attention to detail Proactive, self-directed and solutions-focused approach Experience with SME clients, trusts, companies and SMSFs Exposure to MYOB Practice Manager, Xero, MYOB and Microsoft Office Suite advantageous WHAT’S ON OFFER Close-knit boutique team Supportive leadership and direct access to Partner/Manager Diverse and interesting SME client base Geelong CBD location near cafes and waterfront lifestyle Stable, long-term role with strong client relationships Opportunity to develop through increased responsibility and client exposure Full-time, in-office role with a committed team culture This is a strong opportunity for a Senior Accountant who wants autonomy, variety, and direct client ownership in a boutique practice environment.
